Who Can Help?
This section describes many of the programs and services provided by agencies and non-profits for communities and individuals who have been affected by wildfire. When large wildfires affect an entire community, there are usually public meetings where agency personnel provide current information on services and programs available. Please be aware that programs and funding levels can change from year to year, and assistance may not always be available. Also, it is important to consider the timeline for different types of assistance and other key points before deciding which program or grants best match your needs or the needs of your community. You may also find additional assistance that is offered by community volunteers and local organizations that are not included here. Local volunteers and organizations can often mobilize quickly to provide services such as moving and sheltering livestock or pets, providing household supplies to fire victims, and meeting other needs not met by the major agencies and organizations.
